As the information center of the community, the Brownwood Public Library will be accessible and active in reaching out to people of all ages and backgrounds. The Library will enable the public to be informed, educated, entertained, and culturally enriched, bridging the past to the future and act as a central community resource for all. The Library will offer a diverse collection of print and electronic resources to fulfill this mission through this strategic plan. It will emphasize excellent customer service in a welcoming environment throughout the Library system.
Books, movies and audiobooks for all ages, including eBooks and digital audiobooks. Computers, wifi, printing, scanning, notary, DVD cleaning. Storytime for toddlers and preschoolers as well as summer reading programs with educational activities and incentives for children of all ages. Resources for small business owners, including InfoGroup’s ReferenceUSA. Download legal forms, small engine manuals, Chilton repair guides. Books and practice tests for many school and career tests, including STAAR, SAT, ASVAB, CDL and more. Book Club for adults, Next Chapter Book Club, Lego Club, Crazy 8s Math Club, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, Early Literacy iPads, Great Courses DVD classes and more!
Why your support would benefit us
As an independent non-profit, the library is always looking for ways to provide more resources to our community. Your support will allow us to reach more underserved groups, promote literacy in our community, continue to bring outstanding programs to Brown County and provide a greater selection of quality reading.
what will a $25 gift support?
A gift of $25 will allow us to purchase 2 beginner readers for the collection, which will be checked out and enjoyed by more than 10 families (on average) every year.
what will a $100 gift support?
A gift of $100 will purchase a set of book club books for our Next Chapter Book Club, the community-based book club program for adolescents and adults with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
what will a $500 gift support?
A gift of $500 will fund one or two Summer Reading Club programs for children. Past programs have included the Abilene Zoo, musicians, puppeteers, and more!
